Simon drove to Luna’s apartment while his heart raced. He was getting a bad feeling.
When he arrived at her apartment building, he did not even have the patience to wait for the elevator and ran up to the twentieth floor. As he gasped for breath, he opened the door, only to find her laughing in some silk pajamas. She was watching a show on her tablet while sitting on the couch.
He understood what had happened right then. All her talk about her stomach hurting and how she was feeling nauseous were lies.
He frowned, and displeasure rose in him.
“You’ve been far too arrogant lately. I’ve been keeping you company over the past half a month, and I haven’t had time to be with Bertha. I couldn’t even make plans for our anniversary. And here you are, lying to me about your baby?”
At that, all of Luna’s delight turned into sad tears that rolled down her cheeks. Her pajamas swayed around her and made her look like a pitiful flower. She threw herself into Simon’s arms and said, “I just miss you too much! Besides, being pregnant is tough. I just want you to keep me company. Is that so wrong?”
Simon could not bear being too fierce with her either. His anger instantly disappeared at the sight of her fragility, and he even
hugged her lovingly.
