My heart ached. Even after my death, Kenneth still didn’t trust me.
Someone had leaked the tragic state of my corpse in the hospital online, causing an uproar.
The entire pack was in shock. Everyone whispered among themselves. Their most revered Alpha, Kenneth, had frozen his own
Luna to death.
In fact, it wasn’t just in any season, but it was in the middle of the scorching summer.
Everyone knew that the freezer had been faulty long ago.
But how could a faulty freezer, left unused for years, still be capable of freezing a living, breathing Luna, who was a warrior with
top–tier combat ability, to death?
As the discussions raged on, another revelation surfaced. Someone claimed that Kenneth had done this for the woman he loved,
that he had frozen me to death just to make room for his true beloved.
Kenneth was furious as he read through the online posts. He snapped pictures of the accounts and the slanderous comments,
sending them all to his secretary.
“I hope you’re not the one stirring up trouble behind my back!”
His secretary only replied with an exasperated emoji and said nothing else.
Love truly blinded people.
Even when everyone told him he was wrong, he still believed he was right.
I hovered in the air, watching it all unfold with a numb heart. I felt colder than ice on the inside.
Seeing the dark expression on Kenneth’s face, I actually felt a flicker of satisfaction.
Back when I was freezing to death, I had desperately prayed for him to come save me.
But he never trusted me. Why would he suddenly grow a conscience and come looking for me? Why would he save me?
It was his own arrogance that had led to my death.
Yet, no matter how much I mocked him now, he couldn’t hear a single word.
Kenneth ran his fingers over my photograph. He became lost in thought. His phone rang repeatedly next to him, but he didn’t
answer it.
The screen kept flashing with messages, notifications popping up one after another–until the battery drained, and the phone
shut off.
Agnes stormed into the villa, her eyes filled with distress as she looked at Kenneth.
