When I didn’t move, he pulled harder and tried to lift me from the ground.
“Get up! I won’t punish you anymore! I command you, stand up this instant!”
The warmth of his hands melted the frost on my corpse, but his grip slipped, and I fell heavily to the ground.
Kenneth froze. He stared at me, and his lips were trembling.
“Where’s the doctor? Bring me the doctor, now!”
Agnes appeared at the door. She came with the doctor.
“Kenneth, Irene is gone. Please don’t be sad.”
Kenneth turned to her. His eyes filled with fury.

“Who said she’s dead? That’s impossible!”
The doctor crouched down to check for a pulse at my neck. He then stood up and shook his head at Kenneth.
“Alpha Kenneth, she’s already gone.”

“Alpha Kenneth, the surveillance footage was destroyed. I swear we’ve been guarding this place the whole time. No one has been
in or out,” a guard reported hesitantly.
Kenneth swung a fist at the guard, but the man didn’t dare dodge.
Agnes clung to Kenneth, crying as she begged him.
“They wouldn’t dare hide anything from you, Kenneth. Please calm down. Don’t let anyone else get hurt.”
Kenneth trembled as he removed his coat and wrapped it tightly around my corpse.
He picked me up and carried me to the door.
“I’m taking you to the hospital, Irene. You’ll be fine. You better wake up soon. Otherwise, I’ll make sure everyone pays for this with their lives!”
Floating above, I silently watched everything unfold inside the freezer.
If he had stayed just a little longer that night, would I have survived?
Or if he had come to check on me just once during this period, would things have turned out differently?
Kenneth sped to the hospital with my corpse in the car.
I followed him coldly, watching as he stormed into the hospital, desperately searching for doctors.
Doctors surrounded my corpse, each shaking their heads one by one.
“Alpha Kenneth, Irene is gone. She was brought in too late. We can’t save her.”
Kenneth roared, seizing one of the doctors by the collar.
“If you don’t save her right now, I’ll burn this hospital to the
ground!”
