Both Maverick and Mitchell were bom leaders.
Two years after I sold my shares in the company, the two of them clashed multiple times due to differing opinions. But since Maverick held fewer shares than Mitchell, he lost his absolute decision–making power.
In the end, he chose to withdraw his shares, take the money, and start a new company. However, his golden era had long since passed. The business he had poured all his efforts into now generated less than a third of its previous revenue. At this point, he was merely struggling to keep it afloat.
Mitchell was already giving him face by addressing him as “Mr. Lloyd” at this moment.
Maverick stared at me in shock. “Lia, how could you be Mitchell’s wife? Do you even know that he already registered his marriage abroad? His wedding is next month.”
I nodded. “I registered it with him in Greetz. The wedding next month is ours.”
Maverick staggered back a few steps, his eyes filled with disbelief. “You’re the woman Mitchell married? How is that possible?”
I smiled faintly. “Nothing is impossible. If you have time, you’re welcome to attend our wedding.”
During my four years of traveling the world, I met Mitchell a total of four times.
