cott shouted, then rushed out the door.
Ryan slowly pulled himself up from the floor, looking utterly defeated.
But he seemed dazed, heading straight for his car without a second thought.
Before long, he arrived at Lorelei’s place, an apartment he had bought nearby for easier access to her care.
As he entered the underground garage, a familiar voice caught his attention.
“Give me another 500 thousand, or I’ll tell Ryan everything about what happened back then!”
The moment I saw her face, I recognized Lynette Carline, a coworker from the hotel, standing face–to–face with Lorelei.
“I already gave you 500 thousand! Don’t push your luck!” Lorelei retorted.

“Push my luck? Lorelei, don’t forget you were the one who made me drug Ryan. What do
you
think he’d do if he found out?”
“Are you threatening me?”
Lorelei’s voice turned icy as she stepped closer.
Linette appeared frightened, her determination faltering as she hurried away.
Lorelei then made a cold phone call. “Get rid of Lynette.”
Before she could say more, Ryan slammed on the accelerator, barreling straight toward
her.
Lorelei’s eyes widened, and before she could react, the car struck her.
She hit the ground like a ragdoll, but she wasn’t dead yet as her body quivered slightly.
Ryan’s face was a mask of anger as he approached Lorelei, towering over her.
Wanting to cry out for help, she met his furious gaze and found the strength inching away
as she trembled.
“Lorelei, why did you lie to me?”
His tone was flat, yet it echoed with menace.
Lorelei shook her head, tears spilling as she stammered, “I–it’s not what you think… I
just… I wanted to be with you so badly! I was wrong! I’m sorry!”
Ryan remained impassive, his foot pressing down on Lorelei’s chest.
“Sorry? Your apology can’t bring the dead back to life!”

Realizing he wouldn’t let her off the hook, Lorelei erupted into laughter.
“Ryan, you’re the one who locked Alexis away and hurt her! You killed her! Hahaha! Do you really think you can pin this on me? You’re such a hypocrite! Hahaha!”
Her laughter ignited Ryan’s fury, and he pressed down harder on her until her laughter
faded into silence.
But Lorelei had a point; the true killer wasn’t anyone else but him.
He returned to his car, resting his head on the steering wheel. Faint sobs echoed in the air.
