A crowd of onlookers began to gather around us. Someone asked, “Isn’t that the ‘hero mom‘? I saw her video trending online!”
One replied, “Yeah, me too! I heard those aren’t even her biological kids, but she still risked her life to save them!”
“Wait, really? I also heard that she staged the whole thing. Look at that woman crying. She must be the real mom!”
Hearing the murmurs, Sasha took the opportunity to cry even louder, making sure everyone heard her. She wailed, “How could
you be so cruel, Caroline?
“I just wanted to see my children, but you wouldn’t let me! And then, when no one else was home, you set the fire to burn them
alive!
“You put on this whole show to rescue them, pretending to be a hero while covering up your crime. Someone, please tell me how
could someone be so heartless?”
Sasha dropped to her knees while sobbing theatrically. She begged for mercy while twisting the narrative to paint me as a
monster.
She shouted, “You have the nerve to call yourself a ‘hero mom‘? You were sneaking around the hospital earlier. What were you
doing near the kids‘ room? Were you trying to finish them off since they didn’t die in the fire?”
“Oh God! If you want revenge, take it out on me! Just don’t hurt my babies!” She banged her head on the floor. Each impact
echoed loudly through the corridor.
The crowd began to turn on me and whispered, “Wow, that’s dark!”
“Yeah, stepmoms are bad enough without pulling stunts like this!”
“I knew it. As soon as I heard the story, I said it was all for show.”
I was not interested in participating in her charade. I was about to call for hospital security when Emery suddenly stormed in.
“Sasha, get up!” he commanded. “Don’t kneel for a woman like her. She’s not worth it. Don’t worry. The police will make sure we get justice!”
He pulled Sasha to her feet and glared at me with undisguised hostility. Then, he said softly, “I woke up and saw you weren’t beside me. I knew right away you’d be here, worried sick about the kids.”
