The three others were stunned.
Daniel’s father was furious, and he snapped at him. “What kind of nonsense is this? You ungrateful son! Are you really willing to
abandon your parents and your own child just for that woman?”
Daniel did not even glance at his parents. He poured himself a drink and said coldly, “That’s your grandson. He has nothing to do
with me.”
His child–the one he had truly wanted–was gone. And it was his fault.
Elena stepped forward and clung to his arm, tears streaming down her face. “Danny, I was wrong before, but I really love you. I’ve
loved you since the first moment I saw you.”
“Now that Abigail is gone, let’s be together, okay? I’ll treat you even better than she did. Let’s give our child a complete family.”
That was the final straw. Daniel completely snapped.
His hand shot out, wrapping around Elena’s throat.
“How dare you say you love me? You’re not even worth a single strand of Abigail’s hair. I was going to let you go for the sake of
the child, but since you insist on pushing me, don’t blame me for what happens next.”
The look in his eyes sent shivers down Elena’s spine. She could see it clearly now–Daniel hated her.
If not for her, he would not have betrayed Abigail.
If not for her, Abigail would not have left him.
They would still be a happy, loving couple.
Elena gasped for air, her eyes rolling back as his grip tightened.
Daniel’s parents, fearing that he might actually kill her, hurriedly cradled the baby and tried to calm him down.
At the very last second, Daniel let go. He grabbed a tissue and casually wiped his hands.
Someone like her was not worth dirtying his hands over.
He still had a life to live. He still had to find Abigail. He still had to spend the rest of his life making up for what he had done.
Without hesitation, he handed over evidence to the police–videos of Elena drugging him and framing Abigail.
He also provided records of the money he had transferred to her and the property he had signed over.
