“How many times do I have to tell you? Kimberly and I are like siblings–there’s nothing between us.”
Kimberly added sarcastically, “Kathy, don’t be so petty. Men and women can have purely platonic friendships, you know.”
“Katherine, if you keep making a fuss over this, you’re the one who’ll lose out in the end.”
“I’m not making a fuss. I just don’t want to be with you anymore. And as we clearly agreed last night, we’re done.”
I didn’t want to waste any more words on Jasper.
My body was still aching. Jonathan, that bastard–at least he had some decency and didn’t drag me into a third round.
Otherwise, I’d probably still be stuck in bed right now.
“Fine, then just tell me straight–where did you go last night if you didn’t come back to your room?”
I smiled slightly, raising an eyebrow. “Ran into a friend. We had some drinks and chatted. Is that a problem?”
“Just drinking and chatting?”
“Does it have anything to do with you?” I casually flipped my hair.
