Marley and I both stared at the rings in my hand before looking at each other.
“Luna, why does he seem so different from how you described him? I thought he was going to snatch you away from me just now! I nearly had a heart attack!”
I laughed and shook my head in amusement. “This is Phance, after all. He can’t possibly abduct me under everybody’s eyes, can he?
“But since he gave me the rings, Marley…”
I hesitated as I looked up at him.

On the way back to the hotel, Archer just couldn’t stop thinking about Marley’s hand around my shoulders.
Even though he had prepped himself beforehand that I would most probably have someone new by my side, his resolve still couldn’t help crumbling when he actually witnessed me ignoring him and comforting Marley.
Archer reached up and ruffled his hair in frustration. Then, he took out his phone and tapped on the Instagram application, where I had just posted something new in my stories.
It was a photo of the rings he’d just given me just now, along with my hands intertwined with someone else’s.
The accompanying caption read, “A good Samaritan just gifted us two wedding bands, so I guess we kinda just got married.”
This heartwarming photo felt jarring to Archer’s eyes. He could feel the joy and happiness oozing from the few words and the photo, and suddenly, he regretted his actions. But there was nothing he could do.
Ever since I left him two years ago, he had searched the world for me, trying to find the slightest clues to my whereabouts.
A week ago, Luxe Co. had put up a video trailer of their upcoming auction on their social media platforms, and Archer recognized all of Luna’s signature designs at once.
He kept thinking that if only I could forgive him, he would go all out to buy those rings, no matter what, and propose to me with them.
However, when he saw Marley right next to me, he finally realized that he no longer deserved to be with me anymore. He wasn’t worthy of my bright and beautiful self anymore.
He had hurt me too deeply. The only thing he could return to me were the wedding bands, which
