Archer Nolan’s confession
I first met Selene Larcell when we were both in high school.
I had always thought very highly of myself. Some would even call me vain and conceited. However, there were still hordes of girls falling left and right for me because I had a very handsome face.
Still, I hated all of them. The only exception was Selene.
Selene was my junior by a year. I had fallen in love with her at first sight. I just couldn’t help it.
Her eyes were bright, clear, and full of innocence. There were also two dimples in her cheeks when she smiled.
Still, I knew better than to start dating in my high school life if I wanted to maintain my grades in school. Hence, I just tucked away my feelings for her and assumed that it was just nice to have her around.
I never thought that we would fatefully end up studying at the same college, though. It was then that I truly started paying attention to her and trying to get hers in return.
I started staging “coincidences” that would let us keep bumping into each other on campus. As expected, nobody could ever resist my grades or my handsome looks.
She also fell in love with me and agreed to start dating me.
However, I wasn’t like any other guys who liked planning romantic dates or gestures. I figured that anyone who got together with me would think that I was a boring, uninteresting person.
Selene didn’t think that way, though. She kept thinking that I was the best and most perfect human on earth–so much so that as soon as I told her my plans of starting up my own jewelry business upon graduation, she immediately switched majors for me.
At that moment, I had felt rather amused yet frustrated simultaneously.
Because I now had to be responsible for the rest of her life. In a way, I felt that she was guilt–tripping me.
However, Selene was a very good and sincere person. In a way, she was quite simple–minded, and that made me feel that my college years had been some of the happiest years of my life.
But as soon as I started my company, everything began to change.
I started staying out late, meeting prospects and investors to get my company on track. Every day, as soon as I got back home, I would be so tired that I’d just wash up and go to bed almost immediately.
Meanwhile, Selene would just stay home and sketch her designs all day.
I admitted that she’d done a lot in helping my company to get listed back then. It was her unique designs that caught the attention of my very first investors.
