Chapter 12
This can’t be. Callista wouldn’t do this to me,” Luther muttered to himself.
Callista was so soft–hearted; there was no way she could be this cruel.
He didn’t even dare think about what the document she had handed him to sign yesterday morning really was.
Still unwilling to give up, Luther called Callista’s attending physician.
“Didn’t you know? Your wife came in alone yesterday morning to have an abortion,” Eve said.
Luther’s bloodshot eyes grew darker as he hoarsely asked, “Did… Did she say anything else?”
“Not much. Just that before the procedure, she asked if the baby would feel any pain,” Eve replied.
She paused before continuing, “Mrs. Spencer didn’t seem to know her previous miscarriage was caused by drinking the wrong herbal medicine.”
Luther collapsed into a chair as the metallic taste of blood filled his mouth. Jane’s expression turned livid beside
him.

“What kind of woman did you marry? That was the Spencer family’s child, and she actually dared to abort it!
“Luther, I’m telling you, if she doesn’t want a baby, then Wren will-” Her words were cut off when she met Luther’s dark, hateful gaze.
“Do… you hate me?” Jane stammered.
“Shouldn’t I?” Luther replied in a chilling tone.
